Sheldon Police Officer Injured in Friday Morning Altercation By charguth February 5, 2021 8:01 pm Saga Communications Sheldon, IA (KICD) A Sheldon police officer sustained minor injuries Friday morning during an altercation at a local business. Police Chief Scott Burtch says Officer Eric Meinecke was called to Campus Cleaners around eight o’clock for an intoxicated person causing a disturbance and refusing to leave. Upon arrival, Officer Meinecke reportedly confronted the individual, identified as Dustyn Bergstrom, outside and forced to deploy his taser and pepper spray which had minimal effect. That then led to a physical struggle while Officer Meinecke attempted get control of Bergstrom who was eventually taken into custody with the help of Chief Burtch who was called to the scene when no other units were available nearby. ....
