Justine Abbo, Heather Gaynor, Catherine Loder and Alision Vogg created Scrunchie Shot to sneak their favorite drinks into sports venues, restaurants, concerts and anywhere else they wanted to go. What appears to be a scrunchie a hair tie covered in fabric is really a silicone tube that can be filled with a beverage. ....

ANN ARBOR – When Zach Layle started an entrepreneurship course at the University of Michigan, he didn’t expect to end the semester with a fully-fledged business.
At the beginning of the course, U-M alum Dr. Eric Fretz tasks his students to break out into groups, ideally with diverse backgrounds, to create an “epic” business pitch.
Once his group was established, Layle said one group member joked about doing something with soap. After presenting Dr. Fretz with a long list of ideas, he left soap as a “weak maybe.” ....

ANN ARBOR – When Brett Wolff launched his business Grandson on Call, he was still in high school.
“When I was 14 or so, I would help my grandparents out a lot with their, computers, phones, iPad technology etc.,” said Wolff. “It was my grandfather’s idea to offer services to other people.”
What began as free classes offered at assisted living communities transformed into private lessons with Wolff working 10-15 hours a week outside of school.
“I really, really enjoy doing it,” said Wolff. “I had one private client who was older and had trouble traveling this was way pre-COVID but her first great-grandchild was born and we were able to FaceTime with her granddaughter with the baby and she started crying. She was just so happy to be able to see her great-grandc ....
