I recently had the opportunity to sit down and talk with the Executive Director of the Brevard Heart Foundation, Stacy Cartechine. The Brevard Health Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and recognizing those in the healthcare field. Although they are involved with multiple programs, Cartechine and I spoke mostly about their upcoming Heart of a Hero Gala, which will be held on April 6, 2024, at the Hilton Melbourne. That may sound like a long way off, however the nominating process for this event is now underway.
The month of September has aways been special to my broadcasting partner, Orville Susong and me, especially Friday nights. We are fortunate to have a platform such as Space Coast Daily to broadcast high school football games every Friday night. During the month of September, which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we honor one young person at our football games that has or is currently battling cancer.
It is always fun to talk with young people that are bright, vibrant, full of ideas and want to make a difference. I got just that when I was joined in the Erdman Automotive Studio by Anjani Sharma and Emily Qu. Sharma is a senior at West Shore Jr/Sr High School, and Qu is a senior at Edgewood Jr/Sr High School.
I recently had the opportunity to talk with the founder of AVET Project, Inc., Garren Cone. AVET Project, founded in 2009, is a 501 c3 non-profit that is designed to help and empower military families however they can.
Steve Wilson recently had the opportunity to sit down with two people that are truly making a difference on the Space Coast. Sherill Spaccio and Sharon Noll, along with Sandra Leone and Michelle Fitzgerald, are co-founders of the Pineda Waterway Warriors. Spaccio and Noll joined him at the Erdman Automotive Studio in Cocoa, to talk about their non-profit.
