Horry County police officer killed in the line of duty Tuesday night

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– A Horry County police officer was killed in the line of duty Tuesday night. Investigators say 57-year-old Melton Gore was picking up debris on Highway 22 when he was hit by a car.
Officials said that the officer had served the department for more than 20 years in the Environmental Service Unit.
The Horry County Police Department took to Twitter to send condolences out to Officer Gore’s family and friends, while also asking members of the public to keep the department in their thoughts and prayers as they continue to mourn one of their own. ....
