Arizonans celebrate new EPA soot standards

Arizona leaders are encouraged by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency s new soot standards they said will protect people from dangerous and deadly particle pollution. Sandy Bahr, director of the Grand Canyon chapter of the Sierra Club, said the revised standards will help reduce harmful pollution and improve air quality by lowering the standard for fine particulate matter 2.5 microns or smaller in diameter, known as PM 2.5, from 12 micrograms per cubic meter to nine micrograms per cubic meter. . ....

Poll AZ voters show strong preference for conservation efforts / Public News Service

Voters from Arizona and across the West say a public official s position on conservation will be an important factor when deciding who to support in the upcoming election. Colorado College s most recent Conservation in the West Poll shows 81% of voters in the Grand Canyon State support 30x30 conservation goals, which would translate to protecting 30% of lands and oceans by 2030.
