Government is going full steam ahead on a campaign to clean up Malta s infrastructure

Around 1,200 illegal signs have been removed from arterial roads as part of a campaign called Insebbħu Pajjiżna (Making Our Country Beautiful).
This exercise saw the removal of signs illegally installed on traffic signs, on pavements, and attached to walls.
As part of the campaign, extensive cleaning was carried out on arterial roads, while benches, railings and other street furniture underwent maintenance.
According to a government statement, works were also carried out in Triton Square and across other areas in the Valletta centre. ....

EDIC Globe Steam challenge draws record participation


On the occasion of Earth Day, the Europe Direct Information Centre (Gozo), along with the Global and Observation to Benefit the Environment Malta, organised the final event of the EDIC Globe Steam Challenge. The event was held online.
The challenge was launched in November and a record number of 600 students and 50 educators from seven schools participated.
The participants came from the Gozo College primary schools of Xewkija, San Lawrenz, Sannat, Victoria, Żebbuġ and St Francis (Victoria) and Laura Vicuna Primary School.
All schools were provided with seeds of indigenous trees provided by Grow 10 Trees, compost soil by EDIC-Gozo and an activity sheet to record plant growth, provided by Globe. ....
