2 more NegOcc LGUs now under Alert Level 1

(PNA Bacolod file photo) BACOLOD CITY - Two more local government units (LGUs) in Negros Occidental have been placed under Alert Level 1 by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) starting Thursday. The addition of Cadiz City and Pontevedra brought to nine the total number of LGUs in the province under the lowest category in the country's coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) alert level system. Negros Occidental has 12 cities and 19 municipalities. The highly-urbanized Bacolod City is also under Alert Level 1. Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said with the classification being determined for each city and municipality, those with lower vaccination coverage will still have limited activities and stricter limitations. "That puts emphasis on the effort of each LGU to cooperate with the provincial vaccination drive," Diaz added. Duterte signs laws creating LTO, LTFRB district offices

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (File photo) MANILA - President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has signed 14 laws establishing district offices of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in around 13 provinces in the country. Duterte inked Republic Acts (RA) 11737, 11738, 11739, 11740, 11741, 11742, 11743, 11744, 11745, 11746, 11747, 11748, 11749, and 11750 on April 27 and copy of the laws were released by the Palace only on Thursday. RA 11737 creates a regular LTO district office in Alicia, Isabela, while RA 11738 establishes an LTO district office in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. Under RA 11739, a regular district office of the LTFRB is created in Bacoor, Cavite. An LTO district office is also established in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental and Liloan, Cebu, according to RAs 11740 and 11741. RA 11742 converts the LTO extension office in Sigma, Capiz into a regular district office. The converted LTO office will now be located in Dumalag, Capiz.
