KARACHI: Well aware of the presence of some dangerous fighters in his weight category, Pakistan’s premier taekwondo fighter Haroon Khan is confident of giving a breakthrough in the Asian Qualifying round for Tokyo Olympics pencilled in for May 20-22 in Amman, Jordan.
“I know that in our -58kg weight there are a few tough fighters including Halwani from Jordan, Mohsin Raeesani from Afghanistan and fighters from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. I know their strength and have planned to beat them,” Haroon told ‘The News’ from Quetta on Thursday.
“I have been in top shape, currently am in Quetta undergoing tough training,” said Haroon, who won gold in the 2019 South Asian Games in Nepal.

KARACHI: Pakistan will be fielding its taekwondo squad in the Asian qualifying round for Olympics to be held in May in Jordan.
A bunch of talented fighters are in line to represent the country in the qualifier. But the country’s top seed Haroon Khan is regarded as a dangerous player and is capable of springing surprise for the country in that tough event. He is in top shape and form and is determined to earn a berth for this year’s Tokyo Olympics.
“I have been training hard and am very much confident to win an Olympic seat,” Haroon told ‘The News’ from Rawalpindi on Sunday.
