Take a tour of Italy and its gardens without even leaving home.
The Abbot Library and the Driftwood Garden Club are offering a virtual escape from the New England winter season. Join on Zoom on Tuesday, February 16th, at 7 p.m, for a photo-essay presentation of gardens in Italy, from the Amalfi Coast in the south to Stresa in the north. The tour will include both well-known favorites and more hidden locations, including the Gardens of Ninfa near Rome, the gardens at the Villa Rufolo in Ravello on the Amalfi Coast, the Gardens of Augustus on the island of Capri, the gardens at Villa d’Este at Tivoli, the Vatican Gardens adjacent to St. Peters in Rome, the vineyards and olive groves at Castle Meleto in Chianti, the gardens at the Villas Gamberaia and Bardini in Florence, and the gardens at Isola Bella and Isola Madre in Lago Maggiore near Stresa.
