Syrian Engineers Association elects new board members  15 Apr 2021 - 23:00 The Peninsula The Syrian Engineers Association in Qatar recently elected a new board of directors, in the presence of representatives of the Syrian embassy, the Syrian community and the Syrian school in Qatar. The meeting, held through video conference in line with the requirements social distancing, and the instructions of the competent authorities in Qatar, witnessed large attendance from members of Syrian community and during the meeting active members of the community were honoured.  During the meeting, the Association’s achievements over the previous two years 2019-2020 were reviewed and members with distinguished contributions during the past term were also honored including the late Dr. Tariq Al-Shami, Engineer Tariq al-Jabawi, Engineer Abdul-Halim Kulko, Engineer Abdul-Raouf Al-Jaroud, Engineer Obaida Bled.

PDO signs major waste management agreement with key partners By: Times News Service Muscat: Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with three key parties for the establishment of a central facility for the management and disposal of Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (NORM). The agreement was signed by senior representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, Environmental Authority and the Oman Environmental Services Holding Company (be ah). The project will be among the first in the region to have a sustainable NORM waste management and disposal solution and is expected to generate significant cost savings. Currently, around $4.2 million is spent annually on exporting waste outside Oman for disposal.
