Winton Eugene "Gene" Rush, 74, of Norris City, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022. He was born on March 14, 1948 in Springerton, IL, the son of Robert W. and Kathryn Rush. Gene owned and operated Rush Marathon in Enfield for many years, and later Rush's Station in McLeansboro, Illinois. He was a Christian and was a Past Master and member of the Enfield Masonic Lodge. Gene served in the United States Army during Vietnam. Gene is survived by his sister, Kay Smith of Paducah, KY, and a nephew, Shane Smith of Kevil, KY. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Brandon Rush; and a brother, Stewart Wayne Rush. Funeral services for Gene Rush will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield where Masonic Rites will be performed. Burial will follow at Springerton Cemetery with full military honors by the Carmi American Legion and VFW. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a,m, until time of service on Saturday, October 2 ....
