因为《失孤》，郭刚堂受到全国关注，公安部也非常重视郭新振的案件。然而，这几年始终没有找到郭新振。而郭刚堂每天会接到很多求助电话，帮助许多人找回了自己的亲人。
2016年1月，郭刚堂获得“中国公益人物”称号。
2017年初，郭刚堂不得不关闭直播间。此后一年多，他用心琢磨技巧，学习如何引导寻亲者传递有用信息。2017年开始，他担任山东省的百姓宣讲员，镜头掌控力有了很大提升。
2017年1月3日中午，郭刚堂骑上摩托车从深圳出发，寻亲旗一路相伴，10多天的时间辗转回到老家聊城。 东方IC图
2018年，郭刚堂决定，不再“千里走单骑”寻子。他认识到，社会已发生巨变，移动互联网已经普及到农村。一个人、一辆摩托车、一副旗帜的力量，比起互联网来说，太渺小。
他决定做好寻亲网站和直播，利用好网络的力量。 ....
