A Lancaster man is in prison after he grabbed a Lancaster General Health employee inappropriately while she was walking to work and then assaulted a hospital security officer on Wednesday evening, according to Lancaster city police.Â
Police were called around 4:24 p.m. to the hospital for a report of an assault in progress. Lequaan Monte Brown, 36, followed the woman as she walked to work and repeatedly stepped in front of her, police said. Brown also made inappropriate comments to her and then inappropriately grabbed her.Â
The woman ran into the urgent care s vestibule, according to police. Brown then assaulted a hospital security guard that intervened before leaving the hospital.Â
AUBURN — A 71-year-old Tennessean was sentenced to four years of probation for dealing in marijuana by Judge Monte Brown in a video hearing Monday in DeKalb Superior Court II.
AUBURN â An Auburn man who possessed a âhuge amount of methamphetamineâ was ordered to serve one year on work release, followed by 18 months on home detention, as terms of his probation by Judge Monte Brown during a hearing in DeKalb Superior Court II Monday.
Michael Pinkerton, 44, of the 300 block of West 9th Street, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, a Level 3 felony.
Brown imposed a nine-year suspended sentence and placed Pinkerton on probation, with the work release and home detention components as requirements at the outset of his probation.
DeKalb County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Neal Blythe noted a significant amount of methamphetamine â 75 grams â was involved in the case.
AUBURN â DeKalb County courts had implemented special measures to address COVID-19 health and safety issues during courtroom proceedings long before Mondayâs Indiana Supreme Court order suspending jury trials until March 1, 2021.
The Supreme Court cited a need for drastic measures as COVID-19 continues to surge. In-person jury trials pose an exceptional risk to everyone involved â even if every precaution is taken, the court said.
Since the Supreme Court authorized that jury trials could resume in July after being suspended in March of this year, three jury trials have taken place in DeKalb Superior Court I, Judge Kevin Wallace said. Two of the cases involved dealing in methamphetamine and one involved a charge of child molesting.
