the american economy has created in the private sector jobs for the past 21 months in a row. that s nearly three million new jobs in all. more than half a million over the last four months. so we need to keep that growth going. there are some new signs of life in the u.s. job market. with a strong showing in november that caught a lot of the analysts by surprise. the labor department says employers added 120,000 jobs helping push down the unemployment rate from 9% in october to 8.6%. that s the lowest level in almost three years. but there s more to it than meets the eye. lisa sylvester standing by with more. so what s the story behind these latest numbers? okay, wolf. we re going to talk you through the numbers. first, the positive news. unemployment, as you mentioned, it did tick down from 9% to 8.6% in the month of november. that is very good news. and if you take a look at it in terms of the jobs created, 120,000 jobs that is higher than what economists were e ....

after all, most american workers would never be able to take time off whaen a big project has to get done on deadline. funding the government, that s a big project with a very important deadline. and consider this. according to expedia.com, the average american worker gets 18 vacation days a year. 18. and they only use 14 of them. did i mention that since january, congress has only been in session for 125 days? plus, the divided 112th congress promises to be on pace as the least productive in recent memory. since january, only 14 house measures have been signed into law by president obama. and look at this, when democrats controlled the house last year from january to june, 466 bills and resolutions were passed. by comparison, over the same timeframe this year, only 207 bills or resolutions got approval. they spent more time bickering than getting anything actually done. yet house lawmakers sure do get paid a lot. rank and file representatives earn $174,000 a year. the ....

inconsistent, sometimes nonexistent, explanations from the obama white house. yesterday we told you about silendra a now bankrupt clean energy company whose default left taxpayers with a half billion dollar bill. the obama administration approved that loan despite warnings the company s plan didn t add up. congress now investigating whether political support for the president greased the wheels. tonight s example is a company called lightsquared. it was green lighted to build a new broadband internet network despite objections from several government agencies. the pentagon complained the most. warning this new network could undermine satellite based weapons targeting and other sensitive systems not to mention your efforts to get driving directions. based on the test results and analysis to date, the lightsquared network would effectively jam vital gps receivers, and to our knowledge thus far, there are no mitigation options that would be effective in limiting interfer ....
