Shayla Curts, the young mother of a toddler and infant, was pregnant with her third child when she was shot and killed by a man in December. Her family says this might not have happened if Jackson County's child welfare system had worked like it was supposed to.

MADISON, CT - (From Sisk Brothers Funeral Home) Mary Keefe Meehan, 80, of Madison died on May 21, 2021, at the Artis Senior Living Center in North Branford, CT.
Mary was born in Boston, MA on March 22, 1941 to Irish immigrants from County Kerry, the late John J. Keefe and Catherine O Shea Keefe.
She is survived by her adoring husband of nearly 56 years, William P. Meehan, Jr. She also leaves behind her son, William P. Meehan, III (Marie) of Boston, MA, daughter, Katherine M. Merschman (Joseph) of Madison, CT, and six amazing grandchildren: Emmett William, Patrick Edward, and William Joseph Merschman, and William Paul IV, Fionnuala Marie, and Connor Brian Meehan.
