Biology, microbiology majors present capstone research \ Westminster College

Several biology and molecular biology majors from Westminster College presented their capstone research posters at a semester-end event on Friday, Dec. 1. In these disciplines, the focus of the capstone project is the application of the scientific method through the design, execution, analysis and presentation of an experimental study.

Women's Outdoor Track and Field: Rudolph Wins National Championship in Pole Vault \ Westminster College

GENEVA, Ohio – Westminster women's outdoor track and field junior Emma Rudolph (Santa Clarita, CA / Golden Valley) was crowned the national champion in the pole vault at the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the SPIRE Institute on Thursday.   Rudolph cleared a personal-best height of 12'11½" (3.95 meters) on her first attempt. All of Rudolph's clears impressively occurred on the first try.    "I'm feeling really good," Rudolph said to D3 Glory Days after the podium presentation. "I'm just super excited. I have been working really hard for this. Me and my coach have been working really hard for this for a really long time. I've wanted this for so long, so to finally get it feels really good."    The All-America honor is Rudolph's second for Outdoor Nationals (also a two-time Indoor All-American).   The Titans now have 17 All-America citations in

Titan Men Win PAC Indoor Track & Field Championship \ Westminster College

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Westminster men's indoor track & field team claimed its first official Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship on Thursday. The Titan women placed fifth. The PAC Indoor Track and Field Championships took place at Youngstown State University.   The Titan men placed first out of 10 teams with 124 points. The women finished fifth out of 10 schools with 74.5 points.   "We always frame a theme for our meets," said head coach Tim McNeil who was named the PAC Men's Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year. "We talked about this meet being a Street Fight. A fight where you have to never give up or let your guard down. We knew we were going to take "punches" but we emphasized that we had to keep swinging until the end. The men landed more punches than the other.and we won. I am proud of our team. We have an amazing coaching staff where we work together to share athletes in other event groups
