Edward “Jack” Eugene Fainter, 84, of Natural Bridge Station, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021.
Born Nov. 6, 1936, he was the son of the late James Lofton Fainter and Minnie Worth Fainter.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bob Fainter, and a sister, Betty Mikels.
Jack is remembered as a family man, friend to many, and jokester, whose favorite saying was, “Hurry up every chance you get,” enjoyed seeing others smile, and was a big man with a big heart.
Jack and Gwendolyn happily celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 3, 2021. She remembers him as the love of her life and his daughters credit him with being the Best Dad in the World and was always there whenever needed. ....

Mount Gilead Schools return to five-day schedule Feb. 22

MOUNT GILEAD After much discussion, the Mount Gilead School Board approved a motion for students to return to in-person learning five days per week, beginning Monday, Feb. 22.
The district is presently on a four-day-a-week schedule with Wednesdays used for additional cleaning, teacher planning and conferencing.
Director of Special Education, Molly Clapper thanked the Morrow County Health District for their work in making the teachers’ and staffs’ first vaccinations go smoothly this week. A second vaccination will be given on March 17.
Elementary Principal Chris Kamenski shared good news that the four day per week in-person classes are going well. ....
