The Dodgers held a celebration of life for Tommy Lasorda on Tuesday at Dodger Stadium, with a small group of former players, family, and friends paying tribute to the Hall of Fame manager who died on Jan. 7.
Keith Williams Jr. sang the national anthem before the event, and per the Dodgers, the pallbearers were Eric Karros, Mickey Hatcher, Bobby Valentine, Charlie Hough, Mike Scioscia, Steve Brener, Michael Greenberg, Chris Leggio, Warren Lichtenstein, and Mike Fratello.
“The impact, the loyalty, the love, the passion with which he did everything, it’s second to none. I’m going to miss him. We’re all going to miss him. But he had a heck of a run,” Karros said during the event. “He didn’t do well in the hospital, I was able to visit him. But you know what one thing that kept him going? He was going to get home to see Jo. As great as Tommy was, Jo was his backbone. I thank Jo, Laura, and Emily Tess for sharing Tommy with us.
