Published February 27, 2021, 12:14 PM Those missing actress Chai Fonacier should be happy to know she is soon to be seen in a film meant for global release alongside Hollywood star Eva Green. A Variety report said the film, titled “Nocebo,” will have Chai playing the role of a Filipino caregiver who uses folk medicine to help heal Eva’s character, a fashion designer suffering from a baffling illness. It is set between London and Manila, as directed by Lorcan Finnegan. “Nocebo” is written by Garret Shanley. Producers include Emily Leo, Brunella Cocchiglia, Bianca Balbuena and Bradley Liew.

According to a Variety report on Thursday, Chai will play the role of a Filipino carer who uses traditional folk healing in helping Eva s character know more about her mysterious illness. The title Nocebo is based on the Nocebo Effect, the antonym of placebo wherein the patient s negative thinking results in a more negative outcome. The new film, set to be produced both in the Philippines and in Ireland, will be directed by Vivarium director Lorcan Finnegan, written by Garret Shanley, and produced by Emily Leo, Brunella Cocchiglia, and Filipino producers Bianca Balbuena an Bradley Liew. It s also being developed by Screen Ireland, XYZ Films, Media Finance Capital, and The Film Development Council of the Philippines. ....
