Emily Fishbein. Emily Fishbein is a freelance journalist who was based in Myanmar from 2015 to 2020, primarily in Kachin State, where she started in the humanitarian field and transitioned to journalism in 2018. She focuses on underreported stories and issues related to human rights and writes in collaboration with local reporting partners. Her writing has been published in Myanmar-based, regional and international media including Frontier Myanmar, Al Jazeera, The Globe and Mail, and TIME. For this project, she is working with a team of Kachin journalists and photographers.
