‘To the Plate’ Virtual Screening at March on Washington Film Festival. Reporting Fellows Gopika Ajay and Annick Laurent’s film To the Plate is screening virtually at the March on Washington Film Festival until October 11, 2021. To the Plate follows a restaurateur and her partner as they work to support East Asian seniors living in Chinatown in New York City. This led to the creation of a mutual aid initiative called Heart of Dinner, which worked to provide meals and connect elders struggling with increased food insecurity and rising hate crimes to resources. It’s a film of resilience and care in a time of uncertainty, and how a younger generation shows up for those in their community.
