Alamance-Burlington Schools to grow its own teachers

Alamance-Burlington Schools to grow its own teachers
It always seems hard to find good teachers, and Alamance-Burlington Schools are looking to their own students to fill that gap and increase teacher diversity.
“We’ve got to start growing our own right here,” said Revonda Johnson, chief secondary officer with the Alamance-Burlington School System.
The Alamance Scholars program is recruiting rising juniors for the fall to be teacher cadets. Successful students will go on to Alamance Community College for two years, finish their bachelor’s degrees at Elon University and be guaranteed a teaching job at ABSS.
