A federal judge has vacated a nationwide eviction moratorium put in place by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, saying the agency overstepped its authority by extending the moratorium.

MANCHESTER, NH – Last Spring Zoey Martin looked out her window and saw surveyors taking measurements in her Kennard Road apartment complex and she knew that was not a good sign.
The past year was not a good one for Martin. Her husband was hospitalized five times during the year, she aggravated an old injury and had to stop working in September, and the cherry on top was a notice from her landlord that her rent was going up from $1,274 a month to $1,510.
But solving adequate affordable housing remains a priority for housing advocates

One year after the Covid-19 pandemic was declared a public health emergency by Gov. Chris Sununu, the rental market in New Hampshire will receives another dose of government assistance on March 15. But even with new relief on the way, the creation of affordable housing remains a pressing issue.
The latest round of assistance $20 million – comes from a stimulus bill passed in January that dedicated $25 billion to the states.
