Beaumond House Hospice Care charity skydive to give thrill-seeking husband opportunity of a lifetime

A charity skydive is set to give a thrill-seeking husband the opportunity of a lifetime,
writes Ellie Danemann.
Rachel Yarnell decided to sign up her husband, Chris Yarnell, for the skydive as a surprise after being inspired by a friendâs fundraising.
And with Rachelâs great-uncle having been cared for at Beaumond House Hospice Care a few years ago, they decided this was the cause to benefit.

âBeaumond House organised a charity skydive for people to put their name down,â said Rachel. âI received a newsletter booklet through the post from Beaumond House because I had previously raised funds. I completed all of the forms and sent them off without my husband knowing.

A community café is delivering well-being bags to residents, writes Ellie Danemann.
Carriages Café, at Newark Castle Station, put together 20 bags of candles, hand creams and soaps Ââ all supplied by businesses.
The bags also come with the book Explore, Expand, Engage by Philippa Bottrill â fitting the theme of helping each other through the coronavirus lockdown.

Project creator Wendy Baird said she hoped to deliver 50 bags by the middle of March.
âWe thought it would be quite a nice thing to put these feel-good packs together,â she said.
âIt comes with a CD that has wonderful songs about not giving up and continuing to be positive.â
