Its been a chilly start in the east bay as well. We have plenty of sun on the way, making for a mostly sunny afternoon. Getting there, though, 60s to near 70 by noontime around the bay and inland. By the afternoon, were in the upper 70s inland, with the low 70s around the bay. Today, coming up about four or five degrees. Tomorrow, more significant warming. Temperatures are chilling. It is 36 degrees in santa rosa, 53 in San Francisco and 46 in oakland and about 45 in san jose. The wind is nice and calm and we have a slight offshore flow. That will change throughout the day and we will see more of an onshore flow which brings more moisture our way. As far as rain is concerned, we will not see any moisture and that is because High Pressure is in control and that is why it shoes everything right over the top of us. Safety, including suppression of fires, switching, between sparks can happen and they are on standby to put those out if they happen, and finally, seeing, reporting back the actual conditions on the grounds of these folks here, who then alerts the Emergency Operations center. Reporter it is here that the decisions are made where and when to have shutdowns. Check this out, cal fires history of fires in the last quarter of the year, seven of californias worst fires occurred in the last quarter. 14 of the 20 deadliest fires also came in the last quarter, and 17 of the most destructive wildfires also came in the last quarter. In the north bay, the same thing. Then, out in the mountains up high, 55 to 60 mileperhour wind gusts, which means those other kinds of wins that can really start trouble if electrical lines fail, which is why they necessitate these needs for these things. The other things they talked about, they really dont want to shut the power off. They say they only do it for safety. Certainly, the question of their liability rises. He asked the pg e ceo tough questions just a little while ago. Reporter just about an hour ago pg es ceo bill johnson took to the podium and announced there may be more Power Outages on the way. Fire conditions intensify later this week. 16 counties in Northern California could have the power shut off as early as wednesday night. The Power Company said it will announce the final details tomorrow. Tuesday afternoon. We have not decided to shut off power. He will do another meteorologist run or two.
