Top condo sales of 2020: 9 of the 10 priciest units are in Wayzata

This seemingly endless pandemic has had some folks searching for wide open spaces, where houses have gyms, room for dogs and gardens and gourmet kitchens for making bread. Still, many people still are opting for the convenience of condominium living.
And many of those opting for high-end condos are buying in Wayzata, according to the Finance & Commerce list of the top condo sales in Minnesota. The top sale on the list is a $3.7 million unit in The Landing Hotel & Residences at 935 Lake St. E. ....

Top 10 home sales of 2020: Resilient housing market bounces back after initial COVID slump

As we prepare to bid 2020 goodbye and good riddance, there are a few areas to celebrate. One of them has been the remarkable resiliency of the housing market. Stalled for a few weeks when COVID-19 first hit last spring, sales roared back.
“The real driver was interest rates,” said John T. Wanninger of Lakes Sotheby’s International Realty. Low interest, coupled with families trying to work, play and study in the same place has encouraged buyers to buy big homes and add amenities. ....
