Deputy Superintendent of Finance and Operations Carmen Arrieta-Candelaria and Chief Academics Officer Tamekia Brown were put on paid administrative leave, district spokesperson Gustavo Reveles confirmed, though the reason was not disclosed. Arrieta-Candelaria and Brown could not be reached for comment via their EPISD email addresses. At the EPISD s regular board meeting Tuesday, in which the district s 2021-22 budget was adopted, trustees voted to postpone or not approve three academic contracts related to learning programs, citing upcoming discussions on the pending internal audit. ....
