The women s Champions League started last weekend, bringing good news for Romanian handball clubs. In Group A, on Sunday, CSM Bucharest won at home 30-28 against Krim Ljublajana of Slovenia. Krim was leading at half time 19-17. In the second round this Sunday, CSM will play Brest Bretagne Handball of France away from home.
In Group B, on Saturday, Rapid Bucharest defeated Lokomotiva Zagreb of Croatia 31-27. The Romanian defending champions had a goal lead almost the entire game.
