Washington and Washington State face off in the first meeting of the Boeing Apple Cup series this week as the Cougars come to Seattle on Sunday, Jan. 31 at 5 p.m. at Alaska Airlines Arena. The game will be televised by Pac-12 Networks with Elise Woodward and Eldridge Recasner on the call. Additionally, fans can tune into KJR 950AM to hear Tony Castricone and Jason Hamilton on the official Husky Radio Broadcast. Coach Hopkins is 4-2 against the Cougars since taking over the Huskies and three of the six games have been decided by five points or less.
STARTING FIVE The Cougs come into the Friday s matchup against the Ducks looking to get back into the win column after dropping back-to-back overtime games last weekend at USC (81-77) and at No. 6/6 UCLA (68-66). Washington State still holds a 7-3 mark on the year, while they stand at 5-3 in the Pac-12 play. Washington State will be looking for redemption at Oregon on Friday, as the Cougars seek to avenge a 69-65 loss to the Ducks in Pullman back on Dec. 21. There were 10 ties and four lead changes the last time these two met, with Washington State leading for over 31 minutes in the contest. The Cougars had a chance at a potential game-winning shot in the closing seconds of the game, but their 3-point field goal from the corner sailed long, as Oregon was able escape Beasley Coliseum with a four-point win.

SEATTLE - The Huskies (4-2, 1-2 Pac-12) are flying high after a record shooting performance against Portland on Sunday and now welcome in the No. 7 ranked Oregon Ducks (5-0, 3-0 Pac-12) for the third of four-straight games at Alaska Airlines Arena. Washington shot an arena record 64.8% against the Pilots, but the Ducks should provide a much stiffer test.
The Ducks fly into Seattle averaging 89.4 points per game, have won their five games by and average of 37.8 points and are on a program record 24-game win streak. They are shooting a sizzling 50.9% for the year and have six players on their roster that stand 6-foot-4 or taller.
