Despite Lake County’s Point in Time (PIT) Count for 2023 not yet being published publicly, the increased need for homeless services is very apparent to county officials, struggling to keep their emergency shelter, located at 1111 Whalen Way in Lakeport, open. It is currently one of two homeless shelters operating in the county.
LAKE COUNTY, Calif. An Oroville-based nonprofit that has been operating Lake County’s emergency COVID-19 shelter said it will cease operating the facility in September.
