Elida school annexation approved by county LIMA Elida Elementary School will now officially be annexed into Elida. In the last step of the lengthy process, Allen County commissioners approved allowing Elida’s new 40-acre elementary school site to be annexed into the Village of Elida during their Tuesday morning meeting. The county’s approval was the last step needed to complete the lengthy annexation process, which began back in April after the two entities came to an agreement concerning the move. Under that agreement, the Village of Elida is allowing a 10-year tax abatement on income tax for current employees at the new elementary school. Consequently, the Elida School District will now buy sewer and water services from the village at its standard rate. ....
