Indigenous plagiarism detection software launched in Abuja

An indigenous software developed to detect intellectual property theft has been launched in the country.
The plagiarism detection software, named “EagleScan”, is aimed at tackling problems associated with academic research verification, authentication as well as validation.
Speaking as the Special Guest at the public presentation and launching of the EagleScan Plagiarism Detection Software, in Abuja, Tuesday,Vice President Yemi Osinbajo described it as an initiative that announces zero tolerance for plagiarism.
This, he said, was part of the core mandates of President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government.
He assured that the “federal government was fully committed to supporting all initiatives that will continue to build and enhance the integrity of higher institutions.”

The Federal Government has inaugurated a homegrown ‘Plagiarism Detection Software Code’ called EagleScan to enhance the integrity of higher institutions.

Mr Osinbajo said that the initiative was part of the core mandates of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration that announced the zero tolerance for plagiarism.

The Deputy Governor of Kaduna state, Dr Hadiza Balarabe has advised that residents should follow the law in resolving all differences in their communities in the interest of peace.
She praised individuals and institutions for their role in peace-building in Kaduna State, and called for a collective resolve to address security challenges and protect communities.
The Deputy Governor spoke at a security meeting with elected government officials and traditional rulers from Southern Kaduna on Tuesday.
The meeting, which was attended by members of the State House of Assembly and National Assembly from the area as well as District Heads and local government chairmen, held at the Council Chambers of Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna.
