The West Virginia Black Bears didn’t get their desired result Monday in their Major League Baseball Draft league debut, falling to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers 8-1 at Monongalia County Ballpark. What the Black Bears did get, however, was an opportunity to play for the first time in more than 600 days after covid forced the cancelation of the 2020 minor league baseball season.
