5 STAR: Alfrick and Lulsley Community Shop and The Apple Tea Rooms THERE are new names on the list of Worcester food businesses that have received a five star food hygiene ratings from health inspectors. Ratings are judged by Food Standards Agency (FSA) inspectors over the standards in the handling of food, how food is stored, how food is prepared, cleanliness of facilities and pest control, how food safety is managed and evidence staff know about food safety. New five-star Worcester businesses to make the list, and the date they were inspected, are: Alfrick And Lulsley Community Shop, Clay Green Alfrick, Worcester (April 22). ....
ONE STAR: Watan Supermarket has been given a one star food hygiene rating A CITY shop has received a one star food hygiene rating from health inspectors. The rating is the next to lowest on the zero to five scale used by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), and means that “major improvement is necessary.” Watan Supermarket, in Cole Hill, off Wyld s Lane, was given a one star rating in October 2018, but improved on this rating in a later inspection. But in its latest rating, that took place on March 18, inspectors judged it again as one star overall. Inspectors found that major improvement was necessary on both the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building - including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control - and the management of food safety - that system or checks are in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat. ....
