School students and community members of villages in Udalguri and Baksa districts have joined hands with Aaranyak to afforest degraded elephant habitats in an initiative to curb human and elephant deaths caused by man-elephant conflict. Aaranyak, a research-oriented biodiversity conservation organization, has been conducting seed collection drives with local communities and students to plant native species in habitat restoration sites.
