joining us tonight. we have new developments in the georgia case involving donald trump s alleged efforts to overturn the election. today, as chris was talking, about the former trump lawyer, sydney powell, asked the court to separate her case from the 19 other defendants in the trial. their lawyers claim that sydney powell, quote, has no substantive connection with any other defendant regarding the charges in the indictment, and quote. therefore, should be tried alone. that is to put it mildly, a difficult case to make. powell, seen here standing alongside rudy giuliani in front of a campaign sign for the codefendant, on all trump, has many substantive connections to the other defendants. she attended a meeting with several other defendants at the white house where they discussed ways to overturn the election. at that meeting, they considered making sydney powell a special counsel so that she could investigate the election. but now her lawyers say that she doesn t real ....
