CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) The Longbranch Cafe and Bakery in Carbondale has been sued by the U.S. Department of Labor for allegedly violating multiple federal labor laws.
The lawsuit was filed in January. It accuses the Longbranch, and it’s manager, Elaine Ramseyer Greenberg, of improperly asking employees to pool their tips which resulted in some employees being paid less than minimum wage, working employees more than 40 hours per week without overtime compensation, and failing to keep proper payroll records.
The Longbranch is owned by Dayemi Organization, Incorporated.
