Abiodun Nejo, Ado Ekiti
LEADERS of the Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party have agreed to sheath their swords and allow peace to reign in the interest of the party.
The party had been polarized along the lines of loyalty to former Governor Ayodele Fayose and Senator Biodun Olujimi.
This was made known via a statement signed by Fayose’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, in Ado Ekiti, on Tuesday.
Olayinka said the feuding party leaders took the decision to let peace reign after a recent meeting in Lagos.
The spokesman also listed party leaders who attended the peace meeting to include: Senator Duro Faseyi, Chief Dipo Anisulowo, Otunba Yinka Akerele, Tunji Odeyemi, Gboyega Oguntuase, Alhaji Lateef Ajijola, Deji Ogunsakin and Mrs Funmi Ogun.

Abiodun Nejo takes a look at the task before the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, as it strives to unite party members in Ekiti State ahead of the 2022 governorship race
The Bukola-Saraki-led Peoples Democratic Party National Reconciliation Committee has its job cut out for it especially in Ekiti State.
Perhaps, more than anywhere else, the panel’s dexterity will be required to rebuild the party ahead of the state governorship election scheduled to hold in 2022.
Without a doubt, the race to occupy the coveted Oke Ayoba Government House is playing a key role in the seeming supremacy war among the state’s leading party stalwarts.

The Ekiti State Peoples Democratic Party faction loyal to Senator Biodun Olujimi on Saturday resolved to approach the Supreme Court over the ward congresses of the party which held in March 2020.
The faction, rising from a meeting in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, stated that “after extensive deliberation, considering the pros and cons, the appellate court judgment on the matter should be appealed at the Supreme Court, where it is believed that justice will be manifestly done.”
In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting and signed by the state factional Publicity Secretary, Sanya Adesua, the party praised its members “for their steadfastness and belief in the eventual triumph of justice over injustice and truth over falsehood”.
