Welsh Conservative elected to Clwyd West seat for fourth time

WELSH Conservative Darren Millar has been elected as Member of the Senedd for Clwyd West for the fourth time.
Mr Millar received 11,839 votes on Senedd election day on Thursday, May 6, followed by Welsh Labour candidate Joshua Hurst with 8,154, Elin Walker Jones, Plaid Cymru, with 5,609 and Liberal Democrat David Wilkins with 1,158 votes.
Meanwhile Jeanie Barton, UKIP Scrap The Assembly, received 520 votes, Euan McGivern, Abolish The Welsh Assembly Party received 502, N Clare Eno, of Reform UK, received 304, and Rhydian Hughes, Gwlad – The Welsh Independence Party, received 277 votes.
The results were confirmed on Friday afternoon at Eirias Park in Colwyn Bay, where the vote counting process was carried out by Conwy County Borough Council. ....

Senedd Election 2021: Vote counting underway at Colwyn Bay

Janet Finch-Saunders and Darren Millar have been re-elected to the respective seats.
Mrs Finch-Saunders won the Aberconwy constituency with 9,815 votes.
Votes received candidates are as follows:
Janet Finch-Saunders (Welsh Conservatives): 9,815
Aaro Wynne (Plaid Cymru): 6,479
Rachel Bagshaw (Reform UK): 320
Dawn McGuinness (Welsh Labour): 5,971
Rhys Jones (Liberal Democrats): 735
Sharon Smith (No More Lockdowns): 233
In Clwyd West, Darren Millar held the seat with a more than 3,500 majority.

VOTE counting is underway for Clwyd West after people across Conwy went to the polls on Thursday.
Thousands of votes to elect members to the Senedd and a Police and Crime Commissioner for North Wales are being tallied by volunteers after polling stations closed at 10pm.
Conwy County Borough Council is administering the verification of the votes at The Barn in Eirias Park, Colwyn Bay.

Aaron Wynne, Plaid Cymru candidate for Clwyd West, said he believes the race is really close between himself and Welsh Conservative candidate Darren Millar.
Speaking to Jez Hemmings, Local Democracy Reporter, he said: “Things look very close. I think it’s a two-horse race between us and the Conservatives but I think we’re definitely still in the race. ....
