Festive songs released in memory of Inverness Gaelic School pupil

A GAELIC arts organisation hopes to spread some festive cheer with the release of three new Gaelic songs, with proceeds of the songs going to The ARCHIE Foundation, in memory of Keir MacGruer, who was a pupil at Inverness Gaelic Primary School.
The songs were written by contemporary Gaelic musicians including BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award winner Josie Duncan from Lewis, Pàdruig Morrison of Uist-based group, Beinn Lee, and Gaelic vocal harmony band, Sian. The accompanying videos will also be shared with schools and the 47 local fèisean which Fèisean nan Gàidheal supports as an early Christmas present in recognition of the extra effort made by schools and communities this year while dealing with the impact of the pandemi ....

Did the panto manage to go ahead despite the restrictions of Covid-19? Oh yes, it did!
A new pantomime film raised the virtual curtains last week to an online audience from Gaelic medium schools and will now be streamed to the public on Thursday at 7pm.
Ròs Bhàn agus na Seachd Sìthichean (Ròs Bhàn and the Seven Fairies), which has some specific Ross-shire interest, was written and directed by Angus Macleod, drama officer with Fèisean nan Gàidheal. ....

Such was the success it will now be streamed to the public on Thursday, December 17 at 7pm.
Ròs Bhàn agus na Seachd Sìthichean (Ròs Bhàn and the Seven Fairies), was written and directed by Angus Macleod, Fèisean nan Gàidheal’s drama officer.
Angus commented: “We knew early on in the year that the three-week tour we usually schedule for our pantomime wouldn’t be possible and looked at ways we could offer an online alternative. Although the majority of the scenes were filmed as live, the film format gave me the luxury of including many more characters than would usually be feasible. ....
