Something. there s a weird way, i recently had my bank contact me and me and said my credit card has been compromised and it was one of these grocery store or atm cards. scam artists will install a reader in there, they ll take the number off, put it on another card, go try to bank stuff. the banks have gotten pretty good at fraud protection. they ve got algorithms and know when you do something out of the ordinary. there s a weird part of me that thinks, by the logic of the law of wrong numbers, i would rather be in a group of 40 million people who had their numbers stolen than in a group of ten. it s like, everybody s getting their numbers stolen. usually consumers are protected. we re not generally liable for fraud that s happening with our credit cards. by the way, i m really sorry i stole your credit card. it was my bad. and i got busted. you dirty rascal. ....
