Dec 11, 2020 Stopped for speeding on Interstate I-180 in Loyalsock Township on Sept. 19, motorist Edward Hartz, 45, of 216 Lewis Road, was found to possess four bags of marijuana in his 1999 Chevrolet Malibu, a state trooper said in an affidavit. “There was an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, the trooper said. Maalek Smith, 33, of 1135 Meade St., has been charged with DUI and careless driving in the 2100 block of Poco Farm Road in Loyalsock Township about 11:45 p.m. on Sept. 17 after a state trooper stopped his 2000 Pontiac Montana, which crossed the fog line several times, according to court records. “There was a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage” coming from the driver, whose eyes were watery and bloodshot, the trooper said.
