43 new COVID cases in region, one new death reported
The active caseload has increased by three, now at 333, three outbreaks declared over

Region of Waterloo Public Health reported 43 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday afternoon.
Region of Waterloo Associate Medical Officer of Health Dr. Julie Emili said that the individual who passed was a woman in her 60s and is expressing her sympathy to the family and loved ones.
This latest update brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 11,247 since March.
The number of active cases has increased to 333 from 330 since Friday.

Chartwell Westmount outbreak declared over as region reports 32 new COVID-19 cases Thursday
A large outbreak at Chartwell Westmount long-term care home has been declared over. The outbreak, which started Dec. 27, saw 74 people living at the home and 71 staff members contract the virus and 19 people have died. Meanwhile, the region reported 32 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday.

COVID-19 trends relatively stable in Waterloo region with 46 new cases reported Friday
Waterloo region saw 46 new COVID-19 cases on Friday. Medical officer of health Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang says rates in the region are relatively stable but also warns our community is not immune to the possibility of rapidly accelerating case rates.
