Good morning. Thank you for joining us. Here is a scenario i think about a lot. Imagine soldiers or Intelligence Officers on leave with family, and over the course of two decades or more the soldier honorably defended america. Then suddenly that vacation turns into a nightmare. The European Countries National Police takes the soldier into custody, detaining him or her on politically motivated charges, a prison sentence abroad is a distinct possibility. A spouse behind bars for defending freedom, a son or daughter robbed of their mom or dad, all on the initiative of a prosecutor in the netherlands. Making sure this does not happen is the essence of american first foreign policy. Sadly, this is not a hypothetical. It could become reality if the International Court follows through with their crusade against American Service members. Many of you might recall in november of 2017, the Courts Office of the prosecutor announced intentions to investigate our brave warriors for alleged crimes ar
Conversation, what jack dorsey told barrons. My colleagues, ben levisohn, carlton english and jack howe. So, ben, according to lpl, the market had its best 50day streak in all of history, and that was before fridays 800point jump. Is this all about jobs . Whats going on . Yeah, i mean, the market certainly sniffed out something, Something Big happening, and it really, i think, was shown in this jobs report. 2. 5 million jobs were created last month, and to show just how crazy that number is, the most optimistic economy who was surveyed expected a job loss of 800,000. I mean, its just an enormous dishes, and this is difference, and this is fantastic news showing that the recovery from the coronavirus shutdown is going faster than anybody really expected except for maybe the stock market. [laughter] jack so as investors, with we a always want to think about risks, right . There could be a second wave of pandemic, we still have three times as many people collecting Unemployment Insurance
U. S. Political history. From purdue university, this is about an hour and a half. Hi, ill be guiding our conversation this afternoon. Our panel today is entitled making the case for latino political history. A theme that is arguably central to the idea of remaking american political history. This is not to say that no one has ever thought of or written about latinos in politics and history. In fact, the conversation to come follows in the footsteps of many major works and scholars. But instead, this is about rethinking about what political historians Pay Attention to. In an earlier panel this morning, an essential question was asked about the segregation of american political history in which there is a real barrier to what organizations and individuals are labeled as political or diplomatic actors. In a similar vein, this panel seeks to shift the conversation toward a discourse that cease latinos as central rather than peripheral to the development of modern american democracy. Forge
