Bulgaria: School Year to Be Extended for Most Students - Novinite.com


For all students the
school year will end in attendance after the completion of exams for school-leavers. External assessment and graduation exams will take place in schools and no study material will be dropped, outgoing Education Minister Krasimir Valchev said during his visit to Veliko Tarnovo.
The
extended for children from the first through sixth grade , Valchev said, as quoted by BNR.
Those 303 schools, which chose in December not to study, to carry out project activities, will now study in June, and the rest will offer extracurricular activities.
Probably more students will be subject to the so-called compensatory training - this is the additional training aimed to overcome educational difficulties, the outgoing minister explained. ....

As of 17 February (Wednesday), pupils and university students from Greece, Turkey, Serbia, North Macedonia and Romania travelling daily or at least once a week to Bulgaria for training and educational purposes will no longer be required to provide a document proving a negative PCR test result when entering the country. 
The same applies when entering Bulgaria for pupils and students who live in Bulgaria, but travel to one of the five countries every day or at least once a week for educational purposes.  ....

PM Borissov: Bulgaria is 25th in incidence of coronavirus cases in Europe
“We are in 25th position in incidence of coronavirus cases in Europe in the past 14 days,” PM Boyko Borissov writes on Facebook. “This gives us the reassurance that the easing of restrictions we are now undertaking is not leading to a higher infection rate and that we are effectively controlling the spread of the epidemic.”
“We are expecting another 240,000 doses of vaccines by the end of February. In March we shall receive 500,000 doses and we shall start the 4th phase of vaccination,” Boyko Borissov writes.  ....

There is a risk that students will return to online learning because February and March are the most dangerous months from an epidemic point of view. There is still no „herd immunity” despite vaccination. This was the answer of Education Minister Krasimir Valchev to a question about whether it is possible to send the school students back home because of the slight deterioration of the epidemic situation.
