The funding was made available through the Ohio Collaborative for Educating Remotely and Transforming Schools to support schools in their efforts to improve remote learning. TCESC’s Curriculum and Instruction Department will launch the STEM program in January and run it through the second semester of the 2020-21 school year. The program will complement TCESC’s STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) Powered Learning, explained assistant Superintendent Dr. Robert Marino Jr., who oversees curriculum and instruction.

Osnaburg Local rewards employees with COVID-19 bonus

Teachers are preparing lessons for in-person students as well as students in quarantine, while also helping to cover classes for other teachers and helping tutor their students who have opted for online learning but are struggling.  Principals are driving school buses due to a shortage of substitute drivers. The curriculum director has been covering classes for faculty who have had to quarantine due to being in close contact with someone infected with COVID-19. Custodians create a second cafeteria each day in the gym to give students more space during lunch and are cleaning buildings more often and more extensively. Food service workers also are serving food in classrooms. The technology department is tracking and maintain more devices and hot spots.
