As part of their ongoing series “Internet Contest,” Radio Free Asia’s Mandarin Service last month interviewed China Digital Times’ Founder and Editor-in-Chief Xiao Qiang. CDT has
translated the interview in full, in which Xiao discusses what led him to a career as a human rights activist, the beginnings of CDT, and CDT’s work covering internet censorship in China.
