CANANDAIGUA First Congregational Church of Canandaigua will not host an in-person Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration this year, but will post a recording of 2020’s event on its website and YouTube on Jan. 18.
The focus of the celebration is to honor the life, legacy and vision of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Canandaigua Academy students presented a dramatic reading of King’s “Letter From Birmingham Jail.” The annual celebration also featured winners of the MLK Jr. Poster Contest, in which students in grades 2-5 competed to produce the best poster art. Three winning posters were selected from each grade and students received a $25 cash prize.
