View Comments Montclair s annual July 4th parade has been canceled for the second straight year, the township announced on Wednesday. While Gov. Phil Murphy lifted limits on outdoor gathers on May 19, the Montclair Celebrates committee felt there was not enough time to pull off the townwide celebration that includes a parade that begins in downtown Montclair and ends at Edgemont Memorial Park with a community picnic. We are deeply disappointed that we must again cancel the July 4th celebrations, but given months of uncertainty regarding state guidelines on public gatherings, and our inability to plan with any certainty over the past six months, we made the difficult decision to call off the parade and picnic, said Donato DiGeronimo, spokesperson for the Montclair Celebrates July 4th Committee, in a statement posted on the township website. ....
