Joan Wells and her husband, Dane, owned the Queen Victoria Bed & Breakfast in Cape May until they retired in 2004 and moved to Philadelphia.
But Joan Wells found she missed the gardening and began looking for a way to offer her skills. For the past seven years, she’s been part of a small group of dedicated volunteers who plant, weed, and help maintain several small, historic parks, sometimes referred to as “secret gardens,” that dot the Independence National Historical Park system. ....
